Josh Mankiewicz is a "Dateline" correspondent based in Los Angeles. He began reporting for "Dateline" in February 1995, and since then, he has contributed a mix of breaking news stories, news analysis and clever features to the broadcast.

Mankiewicz has covered a wide range of stories including Hurricane Katrina, the 1996 and 2000 presidential campaigns, the terrorist takeover of Japan's embassy in Lima, Peru, the mysterious mental disorder known as Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy, the story of John Walker Lindh, the American who joined the Taliban, and numerous aspects of airline and airport safety and security. In addition, he offers "Dateline" viewers his offbeat take on news of the week as seen through the prism of blogs in, "The Mank Blog."

Recently, Mankiewicz reported on an in-depth investigation into America's most dangerous roads, the death of entertainment legend Johnny Carson, and he championed an examination into television news' coverage of high profile missing person cases and the role race plays in story selection, making "Dateline" the first network news program to take on the controversial issue. Pastor Rick Warren, Janet Jackson, Kim Cattrall, Michael Flatley and Haley Joel Osment.

Prior to joining "Dateline" Mankiewicz served as a correspondent for Fox Broadcasting Company's newsmagazine "Front Page." Before he joined Fox Broadcasting, Mankiewicz was a political reporter for KCAL-TV, Los Angeles from 1991 to 1993. There he covered all elections and state and local politics.

Dennis Murphy, winner of five national Emmy awards for excellence in news reporting, has been a "Dateline" correspondent since 1994. Murphy is seen most often covering true-crime stories for the Friday night editions of "Dateline."

In recent years, Murphy has covered everything from the Casey Anthony case, the Italian murder trial of American exchange student Amanda Knox, and the Versace shooting in Miami Beach to name a few. Murphy's non-crime coverage has ranged from a Royal Wedding profile of Kate Middleton, to the death of Osama bin Laden, to the plight of the children of migrant workers. Murphy was awarded an Emmy for team coverage of the ditching of the US Airways flight in the Hudson River and a prestigious duPont Columbia award for his reporting on Hurricane Katrina.

Before joining “Dateline”, Murphy was posted in the NBC News London bureau for five years, where he served as Chief Foreign Correspondent for Today, and was a regular contributor to "NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw." Murphy has filed stories from around the world and has covered conflicts in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Central America. He was on assignment at the Berlin Wall the night it came down.

In addition to his Emmy awards, Murphy has been honored for his journalism with Edward R. Murrow awards, a National Headliner award and a Clarion award, among others.

Before joining NBC News, Murphy worked at local stations in Seattle and Houston.

Murphy is a graduate of Williams College and lives in Florida with his wife, Marilyn.

Andrea Canning is a correspondent for “Dateline” and contributes to all NBC News platforms. Canning reports on major crime stories, high profile trials and breaking news including the Boston Marathon Bombing, Hurricane Sandy, the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and the terrorist attack at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Since arriving at Dateline, Canning has also reported hour-long documentaries on campus sexual assault and adoption fraud.

Prior to joining NBC News in 2012, Canning served as an ABC News correspondent since 2004 where she covered the White House, Congress, the Supreme Court and the Iraq War. Canning covered a wide array of stories ranging from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the Casey Anthony case, to her 2011 headline-making interview with actor Charlie Sheen.

Canning previously worked for WCPO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio, as anchor of their evening newscast. From 1999 to 2001, Canning covered countless stories for WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, Florida, including the anthrax scare at the National Enquirer buildings, the path of the 9/11 terrorists, the international custody battle of Elian Gonzalez and the 2000 Presidential Election.

Canning served as a reporter and evening news anchor for CKVR Television in Barrie, Ontario from 1997 to 1999. She was also the morning anchor for WXVT-CBS in Greenville, Mississippi. Prior to CKVR, from 1996 to 1997, Canning was an assignment editor and field producer for the television program "Extra."

Canning graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London with a degree in psychology. Additionally, she studied radio and television arts at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. Canning is married to Major Tony Bancroft, a former F-18 fighter pilot with the U.S. Marine Corps. They have five young daughters.

Craig Melvin serves as a principal anchor for the syndicated run of “Dateline” and is a national correspondent for “TODAY”, previously anchoring “MSNBC Live” on Saturdays and Sundays on MSNBC. Melvin serves as a correspondent and fill-in anchor across NBC News and MSNBC properties.

Melvin has covered a wide-range of breaking news events, including the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, the Asiana Airlines 214 crash in July 2013, the George Zimmerman trial, the aftermath of the deadly tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, the Sandy Hook school shooting, and a series of reports on the future of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Since joining NBC News and MSNBC, Melvin has also conducted several news-maker and celebrity interviews including Feidin Santana, eyewitness to the 2015 Walter Scott shooting, and Nicki Minaj’s pre-Super Bowl halftime performance interview.

Prior to joining NBC News and MSNBC in July 2011, Melvin was a weekend anchor for WRC, NBC’s owned-and-operated station in Washington, DC. Before working at WRC, Melvin earned acclaim as an evening news anchor at WIS in Columbia, South Carolina where he was named “Best Anchor” by the South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association and awarded two Emmy Awards. Melvin is married to ESPN’s Lindsay Czarniak and has one son, Delano, born in March of 2014.

Keith Morrison is an award-winning correspondent for "Dateline." He joined the program in 1995 after a varied career at both NBC and in Canadian television. He has covered stories worldwide, interviewing everyone from presidents and prime ministers, student protesters under fire in Tiananmen Square, to criminals, teachers, artists, actors and authors.

Morrison began his media career in the 1960s. He worked for several radio and television stations in Canada's western provinces, before joining the Canadian CTV Network in 1973 where he was a correspondent, producer and news anchor. While at CTV, Morrison won awards for his coverage of national politics, a middle-east war, and the Boat People refugee saga in the aftermath of the Vietnam War.

In the early 1980s, Morrison was a co-host and political correspondent for the CBC Network’s "The Journal," a nightly news and current affairs program. At "The Journal," he interviewed key newsmakers, both in Canada and worldwide, and contributed documentaries on Canadian political life.

Morrison joined NBC in January 1986 as co-anchor of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news on KNBC-TV, Los Angeles. Two years later, he joined NBC News as a West Coast correspondent for "NBC Nightly News" and "Today," among other NBC News programs.

In 1989, Morrison was a key contributor to NBC's coverage of the student rebellion in Beijing and the resulting massacre in Tiananmen Square. In the following years he contributed award-winning NBC News hour-long documentaries, shorter pieces for various magazine programs, and many stories on "Nightly News" and "Today."

In 1992, he returned to Canada to become host of CTV’s morning program, Canada-AM. In addition he was host of the syndicated program Down the Road Again with Keith Morrison, moderated several panel discussion programs for selected stations of the PBS network, and contributed occasional pieces to NBC News programs.

Morrison returned to NBC in 1995, and since then has covered a wide variety of stories on "Dateline," from 9/11 to Columbine, from the peace process in the Middle East to tsunamis in the far east, from wars fought by child soldiers in Africa to the medical miracles that keep other children alive, from the struggle to "Free Willy," to the battle waged over the fate of the little Cuban boy who once dominated headlines, Elian Gonzales.

Recently, Morrison has made a true specialty of the mystery stories "Dateline" is most famous for. His work has garnered Emmy, Christopher, Sigma Delta Chi and Edward R. Murrow awards among others. He is married to Suzanne Perry Morrison, a writer and artist. They have six children.
